On a recent Pacific NorthWest adventure we were treated with some local Evergreen State goodness and wanted to share a gallery of some images from our journey. We’ve been going out to Seattle for quite a few years now and besides being a popping metropolis with an amazing culinary, art and entertainment scene, its definitely one of our favorite U.S. cities to visit.<\/p>\n

Seattle lies on a narrow strip of land between the salt waters of the Puget Sound and the fresh waters of Lake Washington. Surrounding the city are two rugged mountain ranges, the Olympics to the west and the Cascades to the east.<\/p>\n

Settlers came to the Seattle area in 1851,\u00a0initially called “New York”, but renamed “New York-Alki” in April 1853, from a Chinook word meaning, roughly, “by and by” or “someday”.\u00a0 They soon moved a short distance across Elliott Bay to what is now the historic Pioneer Square district. This village was named Seattle, honoring a Duwamish Indian leader named Chief Sealth who had befriended the settlers.<\/p>\n

Washington State also exhibits some of the most diverse geographic and climate features of any state in the U.S. including a desert as well as an actual rainforest!<\/p>\n

Knowing this, we set out on a mission to explore the Olympic Peninsula and got to experience the Hoh Rainforest first hand. This place was pretty tripped out, kinda like a Dr. Suess book that came to life!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Ferry ride to the Olympic Peninsula<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We made it! Where the Hoh’s at??<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Just seen some birds…The VERY rare Blue Heron<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Started to get creepy…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Really creepy!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Big green trees everywhere<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Yoda lives here…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Was getting too bugged out…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And couldn’t find a phone that worked so we dipped…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Back to the beach!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Burning under bridges…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Got the munchies so before we headed back home we went to get the best cupcakes in town…Cupcake Royale<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Delta charged $200 extra for a snowboard bag!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>They can eat a big ol’ bag of Dick’s!<\/p>\n
