Since its inception in 2022, The Winter Get Down has become one of the premier snowboarding and lifestyle events of the season. From New York to Vermont to Aspen and California, we bring the best parts and people of our culture together for a few days of riding, après dance parties and culinary adventures to spend time in the mountains together as a family in the best way we know how. To kick off 2026, it was finally time to expand the annual Utah Takeover at Powder Mountain to an official double weekend Winter Get Down celebration!
Weekend One got things started at Powder Mountain’s brand new Backyard Après Sessions area, complete with a gondola DJ booth, fire pits and refreshments from the longtime locals’ favorite Powder Keg. NYC duo Angel + Dren teamed up with SLC’s DJ Flash & Flare and DJ Matty Mo to set the vibes right and get the bodies moving for a proper post shred throw down. Our man Trevor Andrew aka Gucci Ghost showed up to rip some laps and bless a vintage 1972 Timberline chairlift with some original artwork to be auctioned off during the Hoods To Woods fundraiser on Weekend Two.
You know the SnowGods always roll with us, so even with the unusually warm weather to start the season, an extended storm showed up right on time and our powder posse came through to enjoy Utah’s least crowded and largest resort. With its remote location in the Ogden Valley, Powder Mountain feels more like a private backcountry experience than a holiday week with the tourists. We mobbed deep with professional snowboarder Alex Caccamo, Corey Bullough and the NYC Stunt Crew joining forces with TheGoodLife! West Coast gang of Andy Estebo, pro skaters Dashawn Jordan, Alex Midler, Eric Koston and many more to take advantage of the fresh snow and rapidly improving conditions. There were plenty of high fives and snow-filled smiles all around as PowMow never disappoints.
Weekend two had the talented Sophie Gray headline after the Grom Fest Awards and the Hoods To Woods fundraiser, to help support their mission to introduce young people to snowboarding, provide mentorship, and create pathways into the outdoor industry.
Big ups to Fice Gallery, Oakley, Arc’teryx and 686 for their contributions to the cause, and of course special thanks to Powder Mountain for hosting us once again. Make sure to follow Winter Get Down to stay of top of the latest happenings and find the next event!
